ADMISSION 2022-23
Admissions in Progressive English School, Sharjah is open to students of different nationalities except from the Arab countries as per SPEA.
AGE GUIDELINES
(applicable from the academic year 2022-23 as per SPEA)
1) For admissions to KG 1 the child must be 4 years old by 31st March of the year in which they have been admitted.
2) For admissions to KG 2 the child must be 5 years old by 31st March of the year in which they have been admitted.
3) For admissions to Grade 1 the child must be 6 years old by 31st March of the year in which they have been admitted.
4) For KG1/KG2 and Grade 1 student already studying in Sharjah or any other Emirate, revised age regulations do not apply, but a Passed and promoted result and duly attested TC is required from other emirates (within Sharjah attestation is not required)
5) For admissions to Grade 2 to Grade 9 and Grade 11 previous records of the classes attended will have to be submitted.
6) For admissions to Grade 10 and Grade 12, CISCE registration documents need to be submitted.
7) If the student is coming from a different curriculum with TC showing Year instead of Grade then the admission will be done for 1 lower Grade due to the difference in age criteria and Grade system.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
- For KG1
- Physical/personality is checked
- Oral interview with child and child`s parent
- Child is assessed - colours, fruits/animals
- For KG2
- Physical/personality is checked
- Oral interview with child and child`s parent
- Child is assessed - colours, fruits/animals
- Written diagnostic entrance test is conducted based on KG1`s portion for literacy and numeracy
- For KG2, Children who have medical issues and overage due to disability (Medical records provided by parents and parents request to be in lower class with support) and SPEA`s approval
- The required documents to be produced pertaining to the date of birth, last class attended and the visa status of the students.
- The students need to undergo an entrance examination and secure passing marks in order to seek admission.
- The parents of the prospective students need to complete the application form as per the guidelines.
- a) Name, DOB etc should be as per the EID/ passport of the student.
- b) Name of the parents should be as given in the child’s passport.
DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION
1) Student's passport copy with the valid residence visa.
2) Original Emirates ID of the student and parents.
3) Two recent photographs of the student.
4) Vaccination card copy and medical file from the previous school attended.
5) Original mark sheet of the last examination passed at the previous school (applicable for the admissions to Grade 1 & above).
6) Students seeking admission to the school from Grade 2 & above are required to submit the original transfer certificate/School leaving certificate of the school last attended, duly attested as per the guidelines given below:
7) Code of conduct certificate from the previous school attended.
FOR THE STUDENTS COMING FROM INDIA & OTHER NON-ARAB COUNTRIES
- The Original transfer certificate (TC) has to be verified by the Local Education Authority from where the TC has been obtained.
- UAE Embassy of that country
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs -UAE
FOR STUDENTS COMING FROM GULF COUNTRIES OTHER THE UAE & OMAN
- The transfer certificate has to be verified by the Local Education Ministry of that Country.
- The transfer certificate has to be attested by the external affairs ministry of that Country.
- The UAE consulate or Embassy in that particular country has to attest it.
STUDENTS COMING FROM OMAN
- All the above attestations excluding the verification by the Local education ministry of that country, remaining all to be completed.
STUDENTS COMING WITHIN UAE
- Students coming from Emirates within the UAE are required to submit the original Transfer certificate/ school leaving certificate of the school last attended, duly attested by the ministry of education of that Emirate.
ADMISSIONS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR
- All Admissions from KG to Grade 12 done in the middle of the academic year, requires a studying/ discontinued TC which is valid for 30 days from the last date of attendance. All the attestation remains the same as above.
- Grade 10 to Grade 12: The certificate of the previous degree and the transfer certificate need to be attested.
Students coming from other countries other than India need to produce the equivalency certificate.
